Walmart is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions. This role involves analyzing requirements, coding with adherence to standards, and implementing automated testing and telemetry features while collaborating across teams to ensure high-quality applications.
Analyze and translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions
Develop, configure, and maintain code components adhering to coding standards and best practices
Collaborate in iterative development cycles, ensuring continuous integration and delivery
Design and implement APIs and platform services with a focus on performance and security
Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and defect resolution to maintain high-quality software
Automate routine tasks and support telemetry integration for application monitoring
Evaluate and apply emerging tools and technologies to enhance development processes
Partner with stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives and technical needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Proven expertise in software development with strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles
Experience in iterative and incremental development methodologies, including Agile practices and user story creation
Skilled in API design, platform development, and component services with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and high availability
Ability to perform requirement analysis, risk assessment, and cost evaluation to align technical solutions with business objectives
Proficient in debugging, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing frameworks
Strong technical acumen with knowledge of telemetry, secure coding standards, and defect management processes
Demonstrated capability in documentation-based coding and delivering scoped features within project timelines
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture
