Application Engineer (C++ & Java), Associate

Responsibilities

  • Build financial technology products and services to meet the needs of BlackRock and our clients.
  • Develop software using a host of languages and open-source technologies including Java, C++, Python, Cassandra, Kafka, Docker, Solr, etc.
  • Take ownership of projects and watch your creations be released to thousands of users.
  • Work closely with senior engineers developing specific parts of the Aladdin platform.
  • Collaborate with users and the product team to design new features.
  • Gain a broad understanding of the investment process and the capabilities of Aladdin.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build innovative products during firm-wide hackathons.

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology and Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience as a Software Engineering, Software Development Engineer, Software Engineer, or related role.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience writing clean and maintainable software code.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience with data structures and algorithms; applying design patterns; Java/C++ programming languages a must; Spring, SQL.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience with Agile development methodology.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience building applications in a multi-threaded environment.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience with distributed systems and storage technologies such as Cassandra, Redis, and relational databases.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience with testing technologies, such as Cucumber or similar frameworks.
  • Two (2) years+ of experience working on applications using Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
