The role involves designing, developing, and debugging applications software and systems, while collaborating with hardware engineers to enhance electronic data processing systems.
Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
Determines computer uses needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and control
Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
Ensures software standards are met
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Qualification
Required
(Associate Engineer Software) bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 or more years of experience in software engineering OR
(Engineer Software) bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 or more years of experience in software engineering OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 or more years of experience in software engineering or additional years of experience.
Experience developing software/writing code in C/C++ OR Java
Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
Experience developing software in a Linux/Unix operating systems environment
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred
Experience with integrating software and hardware
Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS) architecture and standards
Experience with Agile software development and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye, etc.)
Experience with Cameo modeling for software design
An active, In-scope Top Secret security clearance
