General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to help create advanced technologies that support national security. The role involves developing software for payload control systems and collaborating with teams to integrate software solutions.
Develop and maintain software for payload control systems
Implement and test networking protocols and socket programming
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate software solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure optimal system performance
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience
Department of Defense active Secret security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required
Candidate must be able to work onsite in Manassas, VA or Middletown, RI office
Proficiency in C++ programming
Experience with networking protocols and socket programming
Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
Preferred
Software development experience in a Linux environment
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with the QT Framework
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
Understanding of Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS)
Familiarity with Git version control system
Knowledge of submarine systems and operations
