General Dynamics Mission Systems is a leading defense technology company focused on high technology solutions for mission success. They are seeking an Entry Level Computer Engineer to develop embedded software and firmware supporting U.S. Navy platforms, primarily focusing on interfacing custom electronics and software for the Common Weapon Launcher Hardware Test Team. The role involves software development, testing, and cross-team collaboration in a secure environment.
Develop C applications interfacing directly with custom electronics
Create and implement network interfaces between firmware and software
Maintain and troubleshoot existing firmware and software
Review and develop test procedures
Work across teams to design and improve interfaces
Participate in peer reviews
Perform unit testing and support integration and test activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus 1 year of relevant work experience; or Master's degree
U.S. citizenship is required
A foundational understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Familiarity with the software development process from academic or professional experience
Experience with C and other programming languages
Excellent communication skills
Experience with Linux and FPGAs
An interest in real-time systems or low-latency data management
A desire to learn and grow your technical skills
Creative thinking and an ability to manage assigned tasks
Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
Preferred
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire
Familiarity with using Agile processes is a plus
Familiarity with Network communication is a plus
Familiarity with NI LabWindows is a plus
