They are seeking an entry-level software engineer to contribute to software development efforts for mission-critical applications in Space and Missile Defense. The role involves working alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test software solutions while gaining hands-on experience with modern technologies.
Work on state-of-the-art applications that support national security
Gain hands-on experience with cloud computing, AI, and high-performance computing
Assist in the design, development, and testing of software for desktop applications, web-based applications, and mission-critical software solutions for Space and Missile Defense programs.
Engage in Team Activities (Scrums, Reviews, Planning) in an Agile Workflow
Add features, develop tests, and participate in code reviews.
Review and Access project documentation in a team setting.
Individual contributor under direct supervision.
Resolve typical day-to-day technical issues that vary in complexities.
Collaborate with senior members on more complex issues.
Work with established procedures and policies.
Develop solutions using principles, theories, and concepts within own technical domain.
Qualification
Required
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or some other applicable technical field or equivalent experience with 0+ years of relevant experience.
General understanding of programming language(s) inner workings. Proficiency within at least one language (C#, C++, Python, Go, Rust, etc.)
Ability to learn new concepts and apply new technology where applicable.
Preferred
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or some other applicable technical field or equivalent experience with 1+ years of experience.
Experience working in an Agile team.
Experience working with version control.
Exposure to software testing and debugging tools.
Internship or project experience in software engineering, particularly in defense, aerospace, or government-related applications.
