The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer (Real Time Software Engineer) to join the CITS Software team located at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK. This role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business organization by developing and maintaining operational flight software and other real-time embedded software products.
Assists with the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
Supporting software development on agile teams which are tasked with integrating/implementing solutions onto a platform
Developing high fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets to enable rapid development, test, and deployment of high-quality software solutions for the war-fighter, and many others
Uses analytical problem-solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers
Uses engineering skills to deliver improved weapon system capabilities to our customers
Applies engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools
Applies knowledge of engineering principles to conduct analysis
Gathers information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial design of software products
Assists with development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
Assists with development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
Assists with debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
Participates in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis
Assists with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
Assists to develop, establish, monitor and improve software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
Provides information to execute and document software research and development project
Gathers information to perform software project management activities and software supplier management functions
Assists to track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)
Experience developing and using any of the following languages: C++, C, Ada, C#
This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK. Candidates must be able to relocate if not already living in the local area
Preferred
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science OR Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience OR 8+ years of related, relevant experience
Experience developing embedded real-time software and hardware
Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Experience developing models and simulation
Experience with Agile software development
Experience with modern software development tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
