Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain revolving credit applications including BAU, Intake and Projects
  • Work on strategic technology initiatives, including cloud migration, database upgrades, and enhancements to monitoring and observability tools
  • Define and enforce best practices including coding standards
  • Drive experimentation and optimization through proof of concepts and other means
  • Maintain system protocols and documentation to support operational excellence and risk management
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal customer impact and timely, effective remediation

Qualification

Required

  • Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience in the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC)
  • Experience in designing and developing APIs
  • Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2) and no-SQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
  • Good understanding of Scotiabank's Customer Experience Center platform and Cloud platform (Azure, GCP)
  • Good understanding of Credit Card Processing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying real-time solutions in a financial services environment
