The Rotational Software Engineer will complete a two-year development program across multiple technical domains, designing and deploying software, exploring emerging technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Rotate through four six-month assignments across critical engineering tracks such as test, firmware, AI/machine learning, systems software, and product management
Design, build, and deploy innovative software applications while contributing directly to production codebases and real-world projects
Explore and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered developer tools, to optimize workflows, improve code quality, and automate repetitive tasks
Partner with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges, refine user experiences, and advance strategic product goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field
Up to three years of relevant experience or a minimum of one prior technical internship
Strong programming ability in C++ or C#, complemented by scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, Bash, Shell, Ruby, or Perl
Critical thinking and self-motivation with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Full legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
Preferred
Domain experience in computer vision, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence, signal processing, image recognition, or GNSS
Familiarity with the Agile software development lifecycle and AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT
Recent leadership experience in university projects or community organizations
