Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is a company focused on advancing national security through innovative technology. They are seeking a Junior to Mid Software Developer for their Federal Software Engineering team to support agile projects using a SecDevOps approach throughout the software development lifecycle.
Support dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback
Work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (c2) domain space
Effectively communicate with various team members, customers, as well as communicate with vendor support
Leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and provide status of design efforts
Support more than one project at a time, bringing knowledge and experience to help not only their primary project but also support other projects to address critical issues and challenges
Qualification
Required
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or engineering equivalent
Minimum of 0-3 years (ideally 3 years) technical experience
Advance software development experience from school or industry
Proficient in Java and C/C++ programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming where applicable) on Windows and Linux platforms
Experience with Batch File, Windows Script File, Unix Shell Scripting, Python Scripting
Basic understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions using Structured Query Language (SQL)
Ability to design solutions to complex engineering problems
Self-motivated and able to work well within a dynamic schedule
Ability to effectively communicate with various team members, customers, and vendor support
Ability to leverage modern industry standard technologies in engineered solutions
Willingness to travel approximately 10%
Preferred
Comprehension of SecDevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Development with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes)
PL/SQL and Oracle database utilization with applications
Experience with agile development methodologies and management tools
Experience with Atlassian suite of CM tools or similar
General understanding of launch vehicle and satellite launch ascent, test, and on-orbit operational processes, practices, and procedures
