Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain application and system software for our medical devices using C++ and QT
  • Develop technical leadership skills working with a global team on sustaining activities
  • Solve difficult problems and always strive to make things better and achieve engineering excellence
  • Be involved in all aspects of the system's software and product lifecycle
  • Partner with other teams including marketing, systems engineering, QA, hardware and regulatory to understand requirements and bring the best solutions forward

Qualification

Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
  • Prior internship or co-op experience with Boston Scientific
  • 3 months of experience using C++ to develop software for cryoablation devices
  • Experience developing FPGA codes using Verilog in Altera Quartus environment
  • Experience researching, troubleshooting, and resolving both hardware and software issues

Preferred

  • Masters Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Experience with security vulnerability impact analysis and secure design principles
  • Experience with Linux and Qt and familiarity with one other computing or scripting language such as Python
  • Strong analytical mindset - understands key impact on customers and stakeholders
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (Medical device, aerospace, or automotive industries)
  • Experience in developing software using Scrum methodology
  • Experience working with third-party C++ libraries such as STL and Boost
  • Ability to define, promote, and support the principles and standards of enterprise architecture
  • Ability to consult and support multiple large, complex, cross-functional, or divisional projects
  • Ability to recognize architectural problem areas and determine ways to effectively resolve them
  • strong software development experience in embedded Linux device design and user interface (UI) development using Qt
