Weyerhaeuser is one of the world's largest private owners of timberlands, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer II/III to join their team. The role involves collaborating with software development teams, designing and implementing scalable solutions, mentoring developers, and solving complex technical issues.
Collaborate and work with software development teams, providing technical expertise and direction.
Research, design, and implement solutions that meet business requirements, considering scalability, performance, cost, and security.
Work with and/or mentor other developers and engineers, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with standards.
Communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop, suggest and adhere to coding standards and best practices. Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to improve software development processes.
Identify and solve complex technical issues.
Guide in maintaining legacy software.
Understand business processes and the role of IT solutions. Assist in defining requirements, evaluating alternatives, designing, building, and documenting solutions.
Qualification
Required
Associates degree (or higher) in computer science or engineering. A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 2-5+ years of relevant, progressive work experience
Proficiency in .NET (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET), SQL, Angular, HTML, CSS
Utilize Azure DevOps for source code management and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
Strong background in Mathematics
Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required to interact with staff, colleagues and management
Self-starter that actively displays a commitment to growing technical skills and discovering new and better ways to deliver technical solutions
Understands and applies the company’s key behaviors and core values
Ability to develop productive business relationships with internal team members through cooperation, courtesy, and professionalism
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance
Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
Understanding of Agile development methodology
Preferred
Academic instruction or background in principles of structural/civil engineering is a plus
Exposure to engineering analysis software, construction drawings and/or layout design is a plus
Exposure to 3D graphics engines and software development experience with 3D graphics is a plus
