Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their International Digital Experiences team, focused on enhancing online shopping for customers in Mexico, Chile, and Canada. Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance reusable UI components in React with modular CSS, and manage state using Redux, React Query, or Apollo Client.
  • Develop and integrate APIs using Node.js and GraphQL (including federated schemas).
  • Own feature development end-to-end—from technical design through deployment—within a microservices and cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and UX Engineers to deliver high-impact experiences tailored to our international markets.
  • Improve existing architecture and drive frontend performance optimizations.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in engineering excellence.
  • Embrace agile methodologies and a fast-paced, iterative development process.

Qualification

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in object-oriented software development and engineering fundamentals.
  • 1+ years of experience building responsive single-page applications with modern frontend frameworks (React, NextJS, Vue).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Experience in building or consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
