Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their International Digital Experiences team, focused on enhancing online shopping for customers in Mexico, Chile, and Canada. The role involves building scalable web applications using React and Node.js, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact customer experiences.
Build and enhance reusable UI components in React with modular CSS, and manage state using Redux, React Query, or Apollo Client.
Develop and integrate APIs using Node.js and GraphQL (including federated schemas).
Own feature development end-to-end—from technical design through deployment—within a microservices and cloud-native ecosystem.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and UX Engineers to deliver high-impact experiences tailored to our international markets.
Improve existing architecture and drive frontend performance optimizations.
Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in engineering excellence.
Embrace agile methodologies and a fast-paced, iterative development process.
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in object-oriented software development and engineering fundamentals.
1+ years of experience building responsive single-page applications with modern frontend frameworks (React, NextJS, Vue).
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
Experience in building or consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
