Northrop Grumman is an aerospace, defense and security company that provides training and satellite ground network communications software. They are seeking a Test Engineer responsible for creating and implementing test plans, requirements, and procedures, while also performing data processing and reporting to ensure product compliance.
Leadership of product testing, working in close collaboration with all parts of the Operating Unit for the design, development, planning & writing of test plans, test requirements, and test setup & execution procedures.
Leadership of test tooling, software, and instrumentation design, development, and selection.
Support test data collection, post-test data review, reporting, and test requirements verification.
Technical writing to produce test documentation.
Lead, participate, and present in internal and external (customer) reviews.
Leverage modern tools and methods to reduce cost and schedule of product testing.
Accountable for management and tracking of multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals of the program team, matrix organization, and customers.
Accountable to the Operating Unit Test Engineering Manager for meeting the Test Engineering safety, quality, delivery and cost expectations of internal and external customers within entire product value streams.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or STEM related field with 2 years of experience in testing, systems engineering, mechanical design, or other applicable experience; OR 0 years experience with a Master's degree
Demonstrated problem solving skills with hands-on project experience
Excellent communication skills – presentation, oral, written, and listening
Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks
Ability to work independently as well as in an integrated team and adapt to change and dynamic requirements
Demonstrated technical writing and/or procedure development skills
Ability to travel between the Oxnard, CA and Goleta, CA sites and travel to support customers
US Citizenship is required
Preferred
Test engineering experience in the aerospace/aeronautics industry
Demonstrated proficiency in test automation software (i.e., LabVIEW, Python or other) for product testing
Demonstrated proficiency in measuring and controlling various electronic components such as motors, actuators, positional sensing devices, load transducers, etc.
Experience with applicable manufacturing processes such as machining, finishing, and rapid prototyping
