BMO Capital Markets is seeking a UI Designer / Visual Designer to join its Data Cognition Team. The role focuses on designing the visual identity and user experiences of AI-enabled financial products, using sketches, wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes while collaborating with UX research, engineering, product, data science, and AI teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design AI-powered products at various levels of fidelity, from early sketches to live experiences
  • Use storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to explore and refine new ways for financial experts to interact with AI
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with brand objectives and deliver measurable results
  • Work closely with UX researchers, Engineers, Product managers, Full Stack Engineers, Data Scientists, and AI Engineers to align with business and production goals
  • Design with privacy, accessibility and compliance (WCAG standards), and trust at the core of every interaction
  • Stay current with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in financial services and AI-driven interfaces
  • Current portfolio of UX work

Qualification

Required

  • · Bachelor's degree or higher in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or related field
  • · 0-3 years of experience in UI/Visual design for complex digital products
  • · All-informed design tool proficiency: (Figma, Sketch, GitHub, Linear, Adobe XD) plus familiarity with conversation design tools, prototyping for AI interaction, and AI/ML workflow visualization
  • · Familiarity with responsive design, design systems and best practices, and accessibility standards
  • · “Show, don't tell” mentality, excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver pixel-perfect designs
  • · Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams

Preferred

  • · Exposure to AI-driven interfaces and data visualization is a strong bonus
  • · Experience in financial services or fintech
  • · Familiarity with motion design and micro-interactions
  • · Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS) for effective collaboration with developers
