Associate UI UX Designer

Responsibilities

  • Help with the design, operation, and functionality of SHC products from conception to implementation
  • Create and assist with user interfaces, interactions and flows to improve overall user productivity and experience
  • Contribute to the design group's efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization's online offerings
  • Create, assist and develop interaction design spec documents including conceptual models, user flow diagrams, wireframes, page schematics, mockups and prototypes
  • Work closely with the senior designs and development team to help create visually appealing and user friendly internal/external company web pages including graphics, animation and functionality
  • Work closely with the design and development team to implement pages or applications into production; partnering to resolve implementation issues
  • Design web page layout and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offering

Qualification

Required

  • 1 -2 years’ experience in User Experience design or similar discipline that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this field
  • Experience generating insights through advanced research practices and continuous discovery (generative, evaluative)
  • Cultivate shared understanding through facilitation, sketching, workshops, patient engagement at the bedside, in the home, and more
  • Make sense of complexity through framing of problem and vision, diagrams, and information architecture
  • Communicate user experience through patient personas, stories, journeys maps
  • Iterate toward optimal solutions through experiments and prototypes, ranging from hand-made artifacts to interactive digital simulations
  • Communicate and document design decisions and collaborate closely with other team members in business and development, partnering to resolve implementation issues and ensure quality
  • Basic understanding of UX design for mobile and the web, technology trends, and demonstrable design skills
  • Basic visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough interaction design
  • Basic understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.)
  • Basic level proficiency the Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
  • Basic experience working with HTML5, CSS3 and other front end programming languages
  • A strong interest in lean and agile user-centered approaches and methodologies
  • Ability to approach a project from multiple angles with a creative-out of the box design approach and deliver on a variety of solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work on multiple overlapping projects
  • BA/BS in fine arts, graphic arts, human factors from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in a work related field/discipline

Preferred

  • Additional preferred experience and skills in contributing on projects that required knowledge of mobile platform requirements, internet/web requirements, CMS, design tools, and deliverable protocols
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and Design Thinking methodology
  • General understanding of UX design for mobile and web, responsive, accessibility standards, technology trends, and demonstrable design skills
  • Ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough interaction design
  • General understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.)
  • Meticulous sense of detail and ability to seek out simple solutions to complex design challenges
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe AEM, XD, Sketch, or similar programs (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Design Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience in a work-related field/program
