Sherwin-Williams Company engages in the development, manufacture, distribution, and sale of paints, coatings, and related products. The Associate User Experience Designer will support the design and enhancement of software applications and digital products, collaborating with users and stakeholders to create engaging and user-focused design solutions.
Participate in user research to learn best practices as it relates to user needs, preferences, and pain points for applicable systems and technology
Learn about the discovery research process and gather helpful sources to support the generation of deliverables like personas and journey maps to assist the design process
Support the UX/UI team in conversations with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders regarding the design and improvement of software applications and websites
Draft acceptance criteria for UX/UI designs based on stakeholder needs and system capabilities
Organize requirements in support of the creation of wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes, and assist in creation under the guidance of experienced team members
Consider design specifications, related tradeoffs, and other factors associated with design concepts and provide insights to the team
Research leading practices in user testing and usability studies to help validate design decisions
Research design patterns, style guides, and design systems to enable consistency across products and services
Stay current with industry trends and best practices, keeping the user experience in mind
Prepare materials for workshops with stakeholders and end users to collaboratively document user information and co-create potential future visions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in design, business, computer science, psychology, anthropology, or human-computer interaction, or in lieu of a degree, at least 2 years of experience in UX/UI design
0-2 years of experience designing digital user interfaces and user experiences
Familiarity with creating designs and interactive prototypes using tools (i.e., Figma, XD, Sketch)
Good communication skills to effectively convey and receive feedback from cross-functional stakeholders
Good attention to detail and the ability to produce quality design work
Ability to balance creativity with practicality, and to execute plans efficiently under guidance
Familiarity with CMS platforms and web technologies (i.e., JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery) is a plus
