First Citizens Bank is seeking a designer with a strong focus on UI design to join their design system team in the Enterprise Digital Design organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create enterprise design system solutions and participating in design and user research to enhance user experiences across digital products and services.
Works with team members to support the enhancement of the Bank’s enterprise design system by creating and iterating on high-fidelity UI components, visual designs, digital design assets, and documentation/guidelines.
Ensures that digital products, services, and channels deliver an intuitive experience for our clients through the use of design system components that can be leveraged cross-functionally across the digital landscape of the bank.
Leveraging the Design Language System to ensure a consistent brand and approach. Can operate independently once briefed and provided with high-level guidance and necessary resources.
Ensures the success of design system deliverables across functions, services, and channel enhancements by testing new designs prior to implementation.
Writes and executes test briefs for design research.
Uncovers valuable insights and acceptance through testing activities to drive data-driven decisions across the team.
Works closely with design team, development, and project teams and other stakeholders in the design and enhancement of the design system and the supported interactive experiences throughout the Bank.
Participates in practice of critiques, governance, and reviews; receiving and giving honest feedback that helps elevate the designed experiences.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in User Experience (UX) OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in User Experience (UX)
Digital / UI Design skills including web design, motion, and experience with related tools (Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch)
Experience working with design patterns and visual design systems including atomic design, design system of systems
Understanding of modern front-end development practices; HTML, CSS, JavaScript, semantic markup, Design Tokens, WCAG AA standards; Responsive Web Design
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience in User Experience (UX) OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in User Experience (UX)
Familiarity with Content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful, Supernova)
Experience working in agile project environments
Experience working within financial services industry
