Motorola Solutions is a global community focused on keeping people safer everywhere. They are seeking a Design Technologist intern who will bridge high-level design concepts and production-ready engineering, leveraging modern frameworks to create functional prototypes.
Develop functional, data-driven prototypes that go far beyond Figma
Integrate LLMs, diffusion models, and vector databases into user-facing interfaces
Serve as the 'connective tissue.' You will translate UX wireframes and complex design requirements into technical specifications that our engineering teams can scale
Collaborate with designers early in the process to assess whether a proposed concept is technically achievable, bringing a 'builder’s perspective' to design critiques
Research and document emerging AI models, APIs, and developer tools to keep the team at the bleeding edge of what's possible
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, HCI, or a related technical field
A minor or concentration in Design is a plus
Strong foundation in React, TypeScript, and Node.js
Comfortable spinning up a full-stack environment from scratch without a starter kit
Demonstrated experience working with AI APIs
Understand how to manipulate model parameters and structure data for AI consumption
Hands-on experience crafting, testing, and refining prompts to achieve specific, reproducible outputs
Basic understanding of visual hierarchy, interaction design, and user-centric thinking
Experience with Python for scripting and data processing
Familiarity with vector databases or the architectural concepts of RAG
Experience in working with Figma MCP
Adept at integrating AI tools to accelerate rapid prototyping and iterative design
Participate in hackathons, coding competitions, or AI-focused build sprints
A comprehensive portfolio showcasing your end-to-end process, technical execution, and project impact
High School Diploma is required
Must be pursuing a minimum of a Master's Degree with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required
