BMW Group US is seeking a Junior Designer for their design innovation studio, Designworks. The role involves designing interaction flows, UI components, and prototypes for digital products while collaborating with senior designers and cross-functional teams.
Design interaction flows, UI components, and prototypes for digital products, with guidance and mentorship from senior designers as you build your craft
Contribute to the full design process, from early concepts and wireframes through detailed UI, prototyping, and handoff on a range of projects from focused features to broader product experiences
Help evaluate concepts against usability, accessibility, functionality, and client needs while folding research findings back into your design decisions
Work within and contribute to design systems, ensuring consistency across components, patterns, and platforms
Collaborate in cross-functional, agile teams using design thinking, and support senior staff in presenting work to internal stakeholders and clients
Develop your skills in scoping and time estimation and design communication, taking on additional responsibilities as you grow
Use AI tools thoughtfully in your design workflow and contribute to designing interfaces and interactions for AI-powered features
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or equivalent
0–2 years of prior work experience in Interaction/UI/UX Design or equivalent
Familiarity with the end-to-end design process and curiosity about how research, production, and commercial context shape design decisions
A solid grasp of core design principles: hierarchy, typography, layout, color, and an evolving sense of form
Curiosity about AI and a working familiarity with current tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Figma AI, Midjourney, or similar) as part of your design and research process
Strong computer and software skills in: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma or other cloud collaboration and prototyping tools
Preferred
Exposure to 3D tools (Blender, Cinema 4D, Spline, etc.)
Knowledge of Motion Graphics Tools (After Effects, Rive, etc.)
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools
Familiarity with interaction or creative coding languages (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Processing, etc.)
Experience designing for AI-powered products, agentic interfaces, or LLM-based features
