8am is a fintech company focused on empowering professionals with innovative technology. The Product Designer will play a central role in shaping user experiences for accounting and advisory workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centered design solutions.
Translate business and product objectives into user-centered solutions that influence key growth metrics such as activation, conversion, retention, and self-serve adoption
Design and iterate on features that support financial operations and business management, including experiences powered by AI or automation
Optimize user journeys to help customers discover, adopt, and realize value from core platform capabilities
Work closely with other designers to align on direction, patterns, and opportunities to elevate experience quality across the platform
Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, User Researchers, Content Designers, and key stakeholders throughout discovery, design, and delivery
Collaborate closely with Engineers by providing clear design intent, prototypes, flows, and specifications to support high-quality implementation
Develop a strong understanding of professional user goals, workflows, and pain points through research, customer feedback, and product data
Advocate for accessible, intuitive, and consistent experiences that build trust in financial and operational tools
Ensure user needs are addressed through cohesive end-to-end journeys, even when experiences span multiple product areas or teams
Create thoughtful design deliverables across the product lifecycle, including concepts, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready UI
Contribute to the evolution of our design system, ensuring patterns scale across multiple products and use cases
Maintain a high bar for usability, interaction clarity, visual polish, and overall craft
Take ownership of problem spaces while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities or product focus areas
Communicate design decisions and tradeoffs clearly, balancing user needs with business goals and technical constraints
Contribute ideas and approaches that elevate design quality, product outcomes, and team effectiveness across the organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2 to 5 years of product or UX design experience
Strong portfolio showcasing your craft, process, and impact across product flows
Experience designing for complex or data-heavy workflows
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or operational tools strongly preferred
Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
Comfort working within multi-product platforms or ecosystems where ownership boundaries are collaborative rather than isolated
High proficiency in Figma
Familiarity with common research and testing methods, including supporting or running usability tests, participating in interviews, synthesizing insights, and using customer feedback or analytics to inform design decisions
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation
Preferred
Experience designing for SaaS, legaltech, or products supporting professional workflows
Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, or data-driven optimization
Experience working with large-scale or multi-product design systems
Exposure to automation or AI-enhanced workflows
