Product Designer - Engineering Systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product design changes to existing products to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and lead long-term process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in gated product development processes and apply lean manufacturing principles.
  • Set up and test various products to gather performance data.
  • Ensure all product designs comply with relevant HVAC industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations (e.g., UL, CSA, AHRI).
  • Create and maintain detailed design drawings, models, and documentation using tools like SolidWorks or DraftSight.
  • Support Product Data Management (PDM) migration efforts by organizing, uploading, and validating CAD models and metadata within SolidWorks PDM.
  • Perform CAD model conversion from Solid Edge to SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy, design integrity, and compliance with internal standards.
  • Develop, document, and enforce engineering standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency across design teams.

Qualification

Required

  • B.S or Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Experience in Solid Edge, DriveWorks, DraftSight, SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience or a solid understanding of power tools, hand tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize, aligning with the department and corporate goals in mind.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically while acting independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information.
  • Proven ability to conduct presentations.

Preferred

  • Manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
