LMI Technologies is a global leader in industrial vision, designing and delivering innovative 3D and 2D machine vision solutions for industrial factory automation. The Mechanical Product Designer I will support the design, development, testing, analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement of mechanical and opto-mechanical components for 3D sensor products.
Assist in designing, developing, and testing mechanical and opto-mechanical components for high-performance 3D sensor products
Support the team by applying statistical analysis (such as Lean Six Sigma concepts) to sensor data from builds to help assess adherence to design requirements
Run down assigned tasks for larger projects, asking insightful questions to clarify requirements and maintain the highest standard of work quality
Actively identify technical obstacles during your tasks and collaborate with senior engineers to research, test, and propose alternative solutions
Create and maintain all necessary technical documentation, including detailed 3D CAD models (SolidWorks), 2D fabrication drawings (GD&T), bill of materials (BOMs), and test reports
Actively participate in peer design reviews to learn, receive constructive feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
