H&R Block Canada is a leading tax preparation company with over 60 years of experience. They are seeking a Junior User Experience Designer to help design and improve products and services, collaborating with various stakeholders and experienced UX designers.
Create wireflows, UI components, and annotated design handoffs for development
Participate in design reviews and usability testing
Contribute to and maintain the design system
Partner with senior designers, product managers, and developers to solve user problems
Use user insights and analytics to inform design decisions
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, interactive, agile environment
Communicate design decisions with clear rationale and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and teammates
Work collaboratively and build relationships with our local and remote cross-functional team involved in the software development process
Qualification
Required
Post-secondary education in User Experience and/or Human Computer Interaction (HCI), and have an appreciation for the UX Design process
Have 2-4 years of experience in user interface design, product design, or related design work
A portfolio demonstrating your UX design process and visual design skills
An understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development
Great communication skills, written and verbal
Knowledge of responsive design, visual design, typography, colour, and layout
Fluency in English is required and fluency in French is considered an asset
Figma (required)
Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
Preferred
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (nice to have)
Some experience collaborating with developers
