UX Designer II (Remote - PA or East Coast, US)

Ansys develops engineering simulation software used to predict how product designs will behave and how manufacturing processes will operate. The User Experience Designer II creates easy and delightful experiences for users interacting with Ansys products and services, focusing on content production and communication while developing storyboards, wireframes, and mockups.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates cutting-edge user interfaces with increased independence
  • Reviews UX artifacts created by other UX team members
  • Utilizes prototyping tools and UX toolkits
  • May create, review, and manage submissions to development code streams with high quality
  • Creates and delivers usability studies
  • Communicates design rationale across product creation disciplines and personnel
  • Records usability/UX problems with clear explanations and recommendations for improvement
  • Works closely with product managers, development teams, and other designers

Qualification

Required

  • BS or BA in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design with 1-3 years’ experience or MS
  • Master-level expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Framer, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
  • Experience in the full development cycle for a software product, from ideation to shipment
  • Is detail-oriented and utilizes highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development teams

Preferred

  • Certificate in HCI
  • Particular Experience with: Modeling and simulation applications
  • Tools & technologies for UI implementation (production level)
  • Contributing to and leveraging a design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in design
  • Tools & technologies for UI implementation: Visual Studio Code, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks
  • Screen-capture/editing/video-editing tools
  • Ability to: Smoothly iterate on designs, taking direction, adjusting, and re-focusing towards a converged design
  • Think critically, identify pain points, and design creative solutions
  • Communicate succinctly and professionally via email, chat, remote meetings, usability evaluations, etc.
  • Prototype rapidly using any tools available
