Austin Community College is a public two-year institution that serves a diverse population of students. They are seeking a detail-oriented and creative UX Research Assistant to support their web design, content, research, and development team, contributing to the success of web redesign and marketing projects.
Collaborate with the UX/UI Design Manager to create and distribute surveys, analyze results, and present findings
Assist in documenting and refining ACC assets within Figma, ensuring that design resources are up-to-date and accessible
Support web design & development tasks, including preparing survey documents, assisting in design & research activities across the site as it relates to current and upcoming projects
Build and refine presentation decks to communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, setting the tone for upcoming web design initiatives
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
1+ year of experience in UX research, usability testing, or related roles (internships or volunteer experience accepted)
Strong understanding of core UX research methods (e.g., usability testing, surveys, interviews, card sorting, journey mapping) with the ability to adapt them to higher education audiences
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to translate research findings into actionable design insights
Adaptability and initiative to help build new processes in a developing UX practice
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
Curiosity and empathy for multicultural students, faculty, and staff experiences, ensuring research is student-centered
Foundational knowledge of accessibility and usability principles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience working in higher education or nonprofit environments
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, or a related field
Equivalent experience in UX research or a relevant role will also be considered
Familiarity with research & data tools (e.g., Useberry, Clarity, GA4) is a plus
Basic knowledge of UX/UI design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
