Dev Launchers is a nonprofit organization focused on helping people from diverse communities get involved in the tech industry. As a UX Researcher, you'll work with product teams to improve the Dev Launchers platform, developing industry-relevant skills and building a competitive portfolio in this unpaid volunteer position.
Use different research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and more, to address Dev Launchers needs
Work with product teams (synchronously and/or asynchronously) to identify research opportunities, conduct research, implement findings, and incorporate user-centered principles into product designs
Help with internal documentation
Champion including user needs and research-based findings to inform product strategy and design
Support and work with other researchers on the team
Qualification
Required
Curiosity and passion for UX research with 0 to 4 years of experience in the field
Basic understanding of user research concepts (or willingness to learn quickly)
Interest in receiving UX Research mentorship and participating in learning sessions
Interest in improving skills needed to work with cross-functional teams
Willingness to explore and use new technologies
Availability of 5-10 hours per week for at least 6 months
Ability to attend the following: Once a month cross-group meeting occurring on Sunday, 9 30 AM – 10 30 AM CST; Weekly research team meeting on Sunday, 10 45 AM – 11 45 AM CST
Willingness to engage in asynchronous/synchronous communication with other team members
