Gartner is a company providing business and technology insights to enterprise leaders. Gartner is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to build AI-powered solutions for Sales and Marketing productivity, including LLM-based agents, generative AI applications, recommendation systems, and agentic workflows. The role involves prototyping, evaluating, and transitioning AI capabilities into production while collaborating with product, business, and engineering stakeholders.
Design and implement Large Language Model (LLM)-based agents that synthesize information and automate business workflows
Apply NLP and Generative AI techniques to derive actionable insights from structured and unstructured data
Design, test, and optimize prompts, retrieval strategies, and agent workflows to improve AI performance and scalability
Build recommendation solutions, such as prospect interest prediction and personalized outreach recommendations, to enhance prospecting effectiveness
Rapidly prototype AI capabilities, evaluate business impact, and help transition successful pilots into production
Partner with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate business needs into scalable solutions
Stay current on advancements in machine learning, Generative AI, and agentic systems, bringing new ideas and best practices to the team
Qualification
Required
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
1+ years of experience applying data science and machine learning techniques through professional work, internships, or research
Experience with Python, SQL, statistical analysis, and databases
Curiosity and a growth mindset, with a strong interest in Generative AI and machine learning
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments
Ability to communicate technical concepts and connect solutions to business outcomes
Collaborative, inclusive, and respectful team player
Proven ability to manage tasks end-to-end and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and innovative mindset
Preferred
Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval techniques, model evaluation, or agent orchestration is a plus
