The Data Scientist will support AI and business intelligence initiatives by developing predictive models, analytics workflows, dashboards, data pipelines, and generative AI solutions. The role also involves partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions and communicate insights for improved decision-making.
Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights
Develop predictive models, forecasting tools, and machine learning solutions to support strategic and operational decision-making
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, analytical models, dashboards, and visualizations
Design, build, test, and maintain data pipelines, analytical models, dashboards, and AI-powered workflows using Databricks and related cloud data platforms
Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Operations, Marketing, HR, and Engineering to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions
Create compelling presentations and data stories that effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership
Partner with end users to gather requirements, develop prototypes, conduct user acceptance testing, incorporate feedback, document solutions, and support adoption of new AI and BI capabilities
Identify data quality issues, model limitations, hallucination risks, anomalies, and inconsistencies while supporting improvements to data governance, AI governance, reporting accuracy, access controls, and solution documentation
Collaborate with data engineers and technology teams to develop scalable analytics solutions and deploy models into production environments
Prototype and evaluate generative AI solutions, including natural-language analytics, retrieval-augmented generation, AI assistants, and workflow automation, with appropriate testing for accuracy, reliability, security, and business value
Contribute to the development of analytical best practices, coding standards, and data science methodologies across the organization
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, tools, and AI capabilities to advance Altera's data and analytics maturity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field completed by the start date
1+ year of relevant experience demonstrated through internships, co-ops, research, academic projects, or professional work
Proficiency in Python and SQL demonstrated through coursework, internships, research, or personal projects, with the ability to learn new data and AI tools quickly
Experience with statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, or business intelligence through coursework, projects, or internships
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

The role will also evaluate and learn emerging AI tools as business needs evolve. Candidates are not expected to know every platform on day one, but they should demonstrate curiosity, sound technical judgment, and the ability to compare tools based on accuracy, security, scalability, usability, and business value
Foundational experience with Databricks through coursework, certification, internships, or academic projects, including notebooks, SQL, Delta Lake concepts, data pipelines, and machine learning or AI workflows
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
Experience using Git or other version control systems
Knowledge of forecasting, scenario modeling, financial analytics, revenue operations, or business performance measurement
Exposure to AI, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or advanced analytics applications
Experience with Power BI or a comparable business intelligence platform, including data modeling, dashboard development, KPI reporting, or interactive analytics through coursework, projects, or internships
Understanding of semiconductor, manufacturing, supply chain, or technology industry data environments
