The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between programming and user departments, coordinating tests to ensure system reliability and functionality while managing vendor relationships and providing underwriting support.
Elicits and documents requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, task and workflow analysis
Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts
Proposes action steps
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
Develops requirements specifications using standard templates
Works with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyzes tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Liaises between the business units, technology teams, vendors and support teams
Effectively applies fundamental concepts; works on assignments of moderate scope and complexity, with limited oversight; makes recommendations for changes to procedures, and performs varied work, requiring some originality or ingenuity.
Requirement ordering (LabPiQture, E-Health Records, MIB for Policy Change and Reinstatements).
Approve ad hoc letters, reason for decision letters, HIV Letters, Recission Letters.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and contract adherence prior to payment submission; identify expense variances compared to expectations.
Analyze and manage daily vendor work reports to ensure tasks and fulfillment of service level agreements (SLAs). Report deficiencies to manager.
Train members of the team on new and changes to existing processes. Create a positive and effective learning environment.
Back up manager with vendor expense management.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
Up to 2 years of experience in testing and/or systems background.
Thorough understanding of operational procedures and systems.
Advanced skills using MS Excel.
Experience in vendor relationship support.
Experience in operational areas such as claims, underwriting (understanding requirements such as medical exams, attending physician statements, personal history interviews, prescription checks, etc.), agent contract and licensing, etc.
Ability to step in and assist with department needs, which may differ from regularly defined duties.
Preferred
Programming and/or IT background helpful.
