The company is seeking a User Experience/User Interface Designer to create intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces for enterprise web applications supporting critical defense functions. The role involves user research, interaction design, prototyping, design system development, and collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with end users, product managers, web developers, and QA testers to gather requirements, understand workflows, and define user needs
Conduct user research activities such as interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions
Create detailed user personas, journey maps, information architectures, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts
Establish, maintain, and evolve a cohesive design system and component library to ensure visual and functional consistency across multiple web applications
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with project goals and timely delivery
Work closely with front-end engineers during implementation to ensure design fidelity and usability standards are maintained
Adapt quickly to evolving project requirements, stakeholder feedback, and emerging technologies to deliver innovative and effective user interfaces
Document design processes, decisions, and user feedback to facilitate continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Qualification

Required

The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
A bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Interaction Design, or a related field is required
1-2 years of professional experience in UX/UI design for web applications or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience
Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Axure RP is essential
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of modern design concepts, including responsive web design, grid systems, typography, and color theory
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to effectively present design rationales to diverse stakeholders
The ability to work effectively in a collaborative team and adapt to shifting project priorities is critical

Preferred

Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as experience working within Agile environments, is highly desirable
