The UX Researcher I plays a key role in shaping user experiences through research and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to influence product design and functionality. This position requires a passion for creating exceptional user experiences and the ability to translate insights into impactful design solutions.
Conducts a variety of user research methods, including: User interviews, Surveys, Usability testing/ Analysis, A/B testing, Field studies
Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data to identify user needs, behaviors, and motivations
Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations
Collaborates with design teams to create user-centered design
Develops user personas, user journeys, and other user-centric artifacts
Conducts usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness of design prototypes
Develops data-driven recommendations to improve user experience
Collaborates with UX designers, product managers, and developers to establish priorities and ensure that research findings are acted upon.
Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing
Effectively communicates research findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner
Plans and executes UX research tasks to align with our product timelines. Contributes to wireframe and user story creation
Advocates for user needs while understanding their connections to our business goals and desired outcomes
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Novice understanding of user research methodologies and techniques like user interviews, surveys, focus groups, card sorting, usability testing, A/B testing, diary studies, field studies, eye tracking, tree testing, and behavioral analysis
Intermediate proficiency to use data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, statistical analysis software) to organize, manipulate, and interpret data, including using formulas, queries, and basic statistical functions to generate insights.
Novice ability to work independently and as part of a team
Novice understanding of the Design Thinking methodology and ability to apply empathy, ideation, and prototyping to solve problems.
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills including the ability convey complex ideas concisely, tailor communications to the audience, and create compelling narratives
Intermediate ability to communicate and document research findings through artifacts and presentations
Between 0 and 2 years of work experience in the UX research field, with at least some experience working on large and complex products or equivalent
1 year experience with user testing and usability evaluation
1 year experience in planning and conducting different types of research including foundational, generative, and evaluative research at multiple points in the product development lifecycle
Bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Service Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a social science, or related fields or related experience
Formal training in running higher-level statistical analyses; experience using requirements that align to the essential roles and responsibilities
Preferred
Fundamental awareness of A/B testing and experimentation
Fundamental awareness with the healthcare domain
Fundamental awareness with UX design tools such as Figma and the Adobe suite
1 year experience with design tools (e.g., Figma, AHA!, MIRO, Sketch)
1 year experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
1 year experience in planning and facilitating Design Thinking workshops
Masters’ Degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field
