Jacobs is seeking a Junior UI/UX Designer to join their team in Washington, DC, focusing on the Cyber, Security, & Intel space. The role involves developing intuitive interfaces and collaborating with development teams to ensure compliance with design standards and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the development team to build mock-ups of intuitive interfaces.
  • Works across case management development teams to provide a consistent look and feel.
  • Reviews user experience feedback and adjusts accordingly.
  • Works with users to understand use cases.
  • Updates and maintains style guides.
  • Works with the development teams to ensure 508 compliant designs. Works with the development teams on responsive designs based on current best practices.
  • Oversees all visual design efforts. Guides, mentors, and coaches team members while leading projects to successful completion. Develops and maintains relationships with key peers in Marketing, Branding, UX leaders, IT leaders, and others to identify and plan creative solutions.
  • Manages external service resources and budgets for visual design. Ensures successful completion of all work executed by the team (on time, on budget, and ensuring quality).
  • Ensures compliance with the project management methodologies and the Project Management Office processes and standards.
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance of application release management, outage management, and change control processes and standards.
  • Defines, creates, communicates, and manages resource plans and other required project documentation such as style guides and provides updates as necessary.
  • Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs) that consists of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing.
  • Research user needs as well as potential system enhancements. Has familiarity to, or may actually: code, test, debug documents, and implement web applications using a variety of platforms.
  • Plans, recruits, and facilitates the usability testing of a system. Analyzes and synthesizing the results of usability testing to provide recommendations for change to a system.

Qualification

Required

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field
  • In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
  • Creating visual concepts using computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate
  • Develop the overall layout and production design for the target audience
  • Keeping up-to-date with design trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Prioritizing tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs
  • Analyzing large-scale enterprise systems for usability
  • Experience with responsive design
  • Experience writing production-quality HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Designing the visual aesthetics of digital products, including layout, typography, color schemes, and graphic elements (i.e. Wireframes)
  • Ensuring visual consistency and coherence across different screens and components of the user interface
  • Ensuring that designs are accessible to users with disabilities by following accessibility guidelines and best practices
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to align design decisions with business goals and technical feasibility
  • Embracing an iterative design process by continuously refining and improving designs based on feedback, research findings, and usability testing results

  • GitLab, JFROG Artifactory and Xray, Splunk, Hashicorp Vault, Boundary, Consul, Terraform, Nexus, JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible and Ansible Tower
  • AWS Associate Level or above Certification(s)
